What is OverApps?

OverApps is software that lets you block ads and replace them with personalized apps.

Why Install OverApps?

With OverApps installed, you can improve your browsing experience
by blocking annoying ads. OverApps also lets you replace ads with free
apps that will help you increase productivity, access useful information,
have more fun and reduce the amount of ad clutter you see when you browse.

How Do I Install OverApps

How Do I Use OverApps?

1. After installing OverApps, navigate to a website that contains a 300x250 ad, a 728x90 ad, and/or a 160x600 ad.
2. Look for the OverApps bar to load at the top of an ad.
3. Click the orange arrow on the OverApps bar to bring up the app menu screen.
4. Click an app to replace the ad with that app.
5. To replace all ads this size, click the gear icon in the upper right of the OverApps bar. Then, click “replace all ads this size” and click “save.”

Which Ad Sizes Does OverApps Replace?

OverApps replaces more than 60% of banner ads. Medium rectangle (300x250 pixels), leaderboard (728x90 pixels),
and skyscraper (160x600 pixels) ads are replaced now.

What is myApps?

myApps is the feature of OverApps that automatically blocks ads with your favorite apps.

How Do I Choose myApps?

1. Click an app that you want to add to myApps
2. Click the star
   icon in the upper right to bring up the myApps menu, as shown in step 1
3. Drag the selected app icon to one of the 4 myApps slots, as shown in step 2
4. Click save
5. Repeat steps 1 – 4 for each app you want to add to myApps

How Do I Rank and Reorder myApps?

1. Click any app and then click on the star icon to load the myApps menu
2. Click an app icon and drag it left or right to reorder it
3. Click save

Does myApps Work Across All Ad Sizes?

myApps supports all sizes for which there is an app available. If there is not an app available in a specific size, OverApps will automatically load the next available app.

  • PC: Windows XP or higher. Firefox (3.6 or higher), Internet Explorer (8.0 or higher) and Google Chrome browsers are supported.

• Can I use OverApps outside the United States?
  • Yes. OverApps works on any website so long as it has 300x250, 728x90 and/or 160x600 ads on it.
• Who develops your apps?
  • Apps for OverApps were built by Web Widget Works, LLC, the company that develops and operates OverApps.
• Do you accept apps from third-party developers?
  • Not at this time, though it is in future plans to accept submissions from third-party developers.
• Do you accept recommendations and suggestions for new apps?
  • Yes. Feel free to email us, send us a tweet or post an idea on our Facebook page and we will take your idea into consideration. We love hearing from our users!
• Can I use OverApps on a tablet or mobile device?
  • Not yet. For now, please enjoy it on laptops and desktops.
• Does OverApps track my personal information?
  • OverApps is a browser add-on. The add-on detects websites visited and replaces ads with apps selected by the user. Only data required to provide requested services and product improvements is collected. For example, apps like Facebook and Twitter require users to allow permissions to their account. These permissions are administered and managed by the respective providers and not OverApps.

• How do I disable OverApps?
  • To disable OverApps, visit and click the disable button next to the OverApps icon.
• What is Yontoo?
  • Yontoo is the browser add-on that enables OverApps to do its magic. More information can be found at www.yontoo.com.
• How do I uninstall Yontoo?
  • PC: Go to the Start Menu and click “Control Panel.” Click “Uninstall a program,” then select “Yontoo” and click “Uninstall.”
  • Mac – Firefox: While Firefox is open, select “Tools” from the top menu bar, select “Addons,” select “Extensions,” select “Yontoo Layers” and click “Uninstall.”
  • Mac – Safari: While Safari is open, select “Safari>Preferences,” select “Extensions,” select “Yontoo” and click “Uninstall.”
